Dragon Boat Day

Dragon boat racing is not only a popular annual event but also an inclusive sport that promotes both physical fitness and mental wellbeing. It is a beneficial activity for physical agility and building up team spirit. Apart from providing regular practice for racing-oriented teams, One World Spirit (OWS) also provides non-racing-oriented training services to interested parties.

Event Objectives:

  1. Team building to enhance cohesion between members and friends

  2. Recreational gathering with fun water sports

  3. Surveying the interest from members for regular dragon boat training sessions

Coach Experience

  • Raymond Chan, Coach Advisor: Over 35 years of dragon boat experience, previous trainer of Hong Kong Police Force

  • Shirlee Dickert, Coach: Over 20 years of dragon boat experience, Hong Kong Junior Chamber of Commerce, North West Wolf, Lantau Boat Club, Charis

  • Hans Dickert, Team Manager: Over 20 years of dragon boat experience, Lorelei, Lantau Boat Club

Programme:

10:30 am: Gathering and Land Training

11:00 am: On Board Training

12:30 pm: End of Dragon Boat Experience

1:00 pm: Networking

Remarks:

  • Minimum number of participants: 16 (max. 35).

  • Participants must be the age 18 or above

  • Advanced registration is required. Booking priority to members on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Participants with basic swimming skills are preferred. Non-swimmers are required to wear a PFD vest.

  • Participants are solely responsible for their own insurance and safety during the training event. The organiser bears no responsibility for any injury or loss incurred or borne by members of a team or competitors.

  • The event will be cancelled if Thunderstorm Warning or Amber/Red/Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is in force.

  • Health precautions and social distancing measures will be observed. This event follows the Government's Vaccine Pass requirement. Only attendees who meet the requirement will be admitted to join this event in person.

  • To be considerate to others, in person participants are required to take a rapid antigen test within 24 hours before the event.

  • Masks must be worn at all times, except during exempted circumstances.

  • All guests must have a valid vaccine pass​​ as required by the government to enter the Hub

  • Vaccine passes will be scanned at the door
