Economic Outlook 2024: Greater Bay Area Opportunities

On Tuesday, January 30th, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong & Macao, hosted a stimulating breakfast talk "Economic Outlook 2024: Greater Bay Area Opportunities" at the KPMG Office. The event aimed to shed a light on the evolving GBA and its countless opportunities and challenges as we approach 2024.

The GBA, comprising 9+2 cities, is at the forefront of revolutionising the global economic landscape. The discussion focused on Hong Kong's pivotal role within the GBA, with its close connection to the world market and strong support from the motherland, as highlighted by President Xi's keynote address on July 1st.

Attendees gained valuable insights into GBA opportunities across various sectors. The event also delved into the logistics industry, exploring how the GBA's cities excel in ports, airports, and transportation infrastructure.

A special thanks to our speakers, Ms. Maggie Lee, Deputy Head of GBA Strategy and Development Office at KPMG China; Ms. Paola Bellusci, Trade Commissioner at the Italian Trade Commission - Hong Kong; Ms. Peggy Kwok, Senior Vice President of GBA Business Development at Invest Hong Kong, and Mr. Tero Ahonen, Chief Strategy Officer at Jas Worldwide, and Mr. Anson Bailey for moderating the event.

The breakfast talk concluded with an insightful Q&A session, allowing attendees to interact with the speakers and further explore the topics discussed.
