Cash Repatriation from China: Tax Landscape and Cash Optimization Mechanism

On Thursday, September 7, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and Macao, in collaboration with Deloitte AP ICE Limited, hosted the breakfast briefing ‘Cash Repatriation from China: Tax Landscape and Cash Optimization Mechanism’ at the ICC office.

China's outbound direct investment grew steadily in 2022 despite external headwinds and is expected to accelerate this year with various stimulation measures from governments. While the European Union ("EU"), a critical trade partner of China, has attracted strong interest in Chinese investment, Chinese companies must plan to address the challenges of local tax compliance, new rule change, profit allocation and cash repatriation, and HQ tax management in the context of global tax reform. Queries about Chinese companies investing offshore have been constantly received, among which tax is a hot and major concerned topic.

A special thanks to the esteemed speakers Mr. Francesco Vitali and Mr. Stefano Lavore.
